SRL’s R&D division plays a major role in fulfilling this need. At SRL, Research and Development in “diagnostics” has acquired a new meaning. In this endeavor the research activities undertaken by R&D have been instrumental in translating basic research findings and cutting edge technologies into meaningful disease management tools. Functionally R&D anchors: development of new, clinically relevant biomarkers and assays; value addition activities such as validations and reference range establishment for existing or new assays and absorption of advanced technologies and emerging concept in Lab Medicine. Through these activities, it intends to build upon SRL’s reputation as a leading innovator in the Clinical laboratory Industry. In fact it has been a thriving centre for scientific discourse, knowledge assimilation and dissemination in the organization. The education and training functionalities are integral to this process of evolution of the organization. R&D drives the academic courses offered at SRL and anchors the multi facility training programs as well.
