Although the charts of the BMI results may vary country-wise, due to genetics and variation in body shape, here is a general interpretation of BMI for Asian Indian population:

  • BMI if below 18.5 is deemed to be underweight
  • BMI between 18.5-22.9 is considered normal weight
  • BMI from 23.0 to 24.9 is overweight
  • BMI more than or equal to 25 is listed as obese
